Who we Are And why You Should Train Here
Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Crystal Lake was founded in 1981. Scot & Katie Norris purchased KMA Crystal Lake in 2018, and run it as a family practice. They have a passion for helping kids develop the confidence, courage, and respect to grow strong in their everyday lives and become great leaders and examples for others, while instructing parents how to encourage their children to be their best.
Master Norris loves being able to attend other Kyuki-Do Federation events to help promote and support his fellow school owners from around the nation. Locally, the Norris’s support their community with regular supply drives for various charities, help promote National Night Out, and annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising.

Master Scot Norris started training in the summer of 1993. He attended his 1st Dan Black Belt in Kyuki-Do in 1998, and most recently the rank of 5th Dan Master in 2019. He also received a black belt in jiu-jitsu through the AKF and holds ranks in Judo and Hapkido. Master Norris has been teaching martial arts since 1999.
Mrs. Katie Norris has been training in Martial Arts since the age of 15. Katie earned her 4th Dan Jr. Masters rank in Kyuki-do Martial Arts in 2017. She also received a black belt rank in Jiu-jitsu and holds ranks in Judo. Mrs. Norris has been teaching classes since 2007.
